Wreaths Across America Annual State House Ceremony

This year’s Annual Wreaths Across America State House Ceremony took take place on Monday, December 8, 2025, in the State Room, RI State House.

The 2025 Wreaths Across America State House Ceremony in Rhode Island included Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos, Secretary of State Gregg Amore, General Treasurer James Diossa, Major General Andrew Chevalier, Adjutant General and Commanding General of the Rhode Island National Guard,, Kasim Yarn, Director, RI Veterans Affairs, Representative Sam Azzinaro, Chair, House Veterans Affairs, Representative Joseph Solomon, Jr., Captain TJ Varghese, Chaplain, Rhode Island National Guard, Officers of the RI Funeral Directors Association: Nicole Heywood, President, Anthony Nardolillo, President-Elect, Maria King, Immediate Past President, Raymond Butterfield III, Past President, Veterans Groups that included Gold Star Families and Guests from Ponaganset High School.

The Wreaths Across America’s ceremony begins a week-long series of events designed to raise awareness and appreciation for the sacrifices of our nation’s veterans and their families.

The ceremony takes place in most of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. and have a particular focus on family during the holidays.

Volunteers conduct the State House ceremonies each year in their respective state capitals. Dignitaries and special guests are invited to speak in honor of our veterans and active military.

These wreath-laying ceremonies are nonpolitical.
