Rhode Island Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
Rhode Island funeral home with two locations is seeking to hire a registered Funeral Director/Embalmer. Rhode Island license is required. This is a full-time position. Candidates should have a professional appearance and demeanor, be self-motivated, have good communication skills and be able to work independently as well as with others. Candidates would be on a rotating schedule and will include some week-ends, nights on call and some holidays. We are a large volume firm. Duties include but are not limited to: 1) Plan, schedule, and coordinate funerals, burials, and cremations, arranging such details to meet the needs of the families we serve, consulting with families of the deceased to arrange funeral details such as obituary notices, casket selection, coordination of church services, cemeteries, etc.; 2) Obtain information needed to complete legal documents such as death certificates, burial permits, and information needed for obituaries, etc.; 3) Inform survivors of benefits to which they may be eligible, including Veteran Administration, Social Security, etc.; 5) Meet with families to discuss pre-need arrangements and make contracts for same; 6) Demonstrate skills and abilities relative to the embalming or other preparation of the deceased; we take extreme pride in all that we do.
