We are pleased to announce that this year’s Annual OSHA Training will be presented by Dr. Jacqueline (Jacquie) Taylor.
OSHA training is an annual federally mandated requirement. There is no question that OSHA is gearing up for greater enforcement, higher penalties, possibly as a revenue source, and is moving away from the voluntary compliance concept that was prevalent in the last eight years. All of these items will one way or another affect funeral service. Please note that if an inspector visits your funeral home requesting proof that you attended Annual OSHA training in this calendar year, you will need to be prepared to show a certificate of training that that will be mailed to you following this year’s Training. Upon completion of the seminar you will receive three (3) continuing education credits for your participation and attendance. This is rather important since you will need a total of five (5) credits prior to renewing your Rhode Island Funeral Director/Embalmer license in December 2019.
Every RIFDA meeting provides one (1) continuing education credit, and many of you have participated in meetings this year and have already accumulated credits toward the total of five (5) for each year. The cost for RIFDA members is $25.00 per person, and we also invite non members to earn their required CEU's at a nominal charge of $75.00 per person for the OSHA training seminar/dinner.
In keeping with national professional standards for continuing education, our Association will continue to provide educational meetings and seminars as a benefit to members. We encourage members to take advantage of this benefit.
To all licensees who are not yet members, we invite you to attend this seminar at the nominal cost of $75.00 per person. The additional required credits may be obtained through NFDA or seminars approved by the Academy of Professional Service Practice (APFSP).
The training includes dinner, with the following choices:
Pan Seared Salmon with
roasted fennel and asparagus, steamed Jasmine rice and lentil blend
with roasted root vegetable and butternut squash risotto Cognac mushroom sauce
